Howl is a general skin casino that takes TF2, not a TF2 site. How Howl proves its games are fair

Howl runs its own commit and reveal scheme instead of using an outside randomness source. A round is created with a server seed the site generates, that seed is hashed with SHA256 and published before the round, and the result comes from the server seed, your client seed and a nonce joined together. Because the hash is shown first, you can check afterwards that the revealed seed matches it.

Three tools sit on the fairness page. A verify by GameID lookup returns the client seed, nonce, server seed and hashed server seed. Beside it are an unhash server seed utility and a legacy verifier for rounds played before 13 December 2024 at 11:30 UTC. It also lists retired seed pairs with the number of bets made under each and the date it was deactivated, which is the part that makes the check meaningful.
